Introduction


Malaysia – is one of the world’s twelve mega-diversity countries. Endau Rompin is regarded as a “hotspot”. It is located at Mersing and Segamat districts of Johore. They are two entry points to Endau Rompin Johor National Park which is through Kg. Peta in Mersing and Kg. Selai in Segamat. The park covers 48,905 hectares. It was gazetted as a National Park on 2 September 1993. The ecosystem in this park is tropical rain forest. This forest category is a tropical rainforest.



Place of Interest


Kampung Peta: The furthest Orang Asli settlement in Johor. The villagers are an invaluable treasure trove to knowledge when it comes to using forest herbs for medicinal purposes.


Janing Barat: The serene stillness of this mystical fan palm forest is a panacea for the mind and soul.


Pantai Burung: This picnic area is adequately equipped with basic facilities including washrooms and gazebos. It is ideal for tele-matches, family recreational and leisure activities as it is located nearby water.


Buaya Sangkut Waterfall: Named after a local legend, the intoxicating beauty of this majestic 120-metres high waterfall makes the tough hike getting there well-worth the effort. The water here cascade down at the rate of a millions gallons per minute.


Tasik Air Biru: An invigorating, crystal clear blue-water pool which is the home to innumerable river life.


Upeh Guling Waterfalls: The bath-tub like depressions in the rock is another example of nature’s intriguing handiwork.


Kuala Jasin: The breathtaking view from this point illustrates the peerless beauty of the magnificent jungle.


Nature Education & Research Centre (NERC): This centre is being developed as a focal point for nature education and research centre for visitors from all over the world.


Getting There


From Kuala Lumpur (KL) / Johore Bahru (JB)/ Sinngapore (SIN)


The fastest route is via the north-south highway. Exit at Ayer Hitam or Simpang Renggam, proceed to Kluang and then to Kahang. Follow the signage and travel a further 7km to reach the main entry point to the park. From the entry point, it’s a further 53km to the park headquarters at Kampung Peta


Public transport


From KL, JB or SIN, take a train or express bus to Kluang. Then hop on take a local bus or taxi to Kahang. Prior arrangements can be made with JNPC, to have if you require a transport operator pick you up from Kahang or any point between JB, KL or Mersing and ferry drive you into the park.
